Entertainment In Dalian

Dalian, a northern City of China, has a wealth of entertainment facilities - both modern and traditional.  The annual International Fashion Festival is the biggest event of the city.  You may see artists, singers, dancers, musicians, conductors and models from around the world.  Partly due to this event, the city has gained great momentum in the international arena in recent years and therefore reaped in huge revenues.  Local businessmen, realizing this potentially huge market, have also opened many discotheques, bars and other entertainment facilities to meet the requirements of foreign travelers and businessmen.

For pubs and clubs, your best bet is to head to the two main squares - the Youhao and Zhongshan, where a host of drinking and dancing establishments can be found. At Youhao Square, the most popular is probably the Sun City bar.  Near to Zhongshan Square, Renmin Lu is your next best destination.  The Casablanca Cafe and Bar offers good music and beers, while the Greenery Beerhouse serves western snacks.  For entertainment and relaxation, the nightclubs JJ's in the Shenjiang Entertainment Center (Shenjiang yule zhongxin) and Wuwulu are both good choices.

BoonTown Bar
Location: Twenty minutes from Dalian City.
You can reach there by the fast train and getting off at the Five Color City train stop.  Ask for the East Hotel (Dong Fang in Chinese) and look directly across the street for a small sign with a maple leaf on it. BoonTown Bar started business only two years ago but is one of the fastest growing and most popular spots for expatriates and businessmen.

This bar offers really nice atmosphere with good music and open until late hours.  A meeting place for people from all over the world.  Staff speaks good English.

Club Spark
Location: Renmin Lu, Zhifu Lu, on the small street between Shangri-La Hotel and Furama Hotel

It is the most popular Hip Hop bar in Dalian.  Clean and with good atmosphere, they have 5 foreign disco jockeys that play really good music.  80% of the crowd is foreigners.

Hollywood Café
Location: No.28 Shengli Square, Zhongshan District

It possesses the passable imitation of a Hard Rock Cafe, with excellent live music from Mix Companies, also excellent buzz at the weekends.
