As a proverb popular at the locality of Kunming goes. "There is neither cold nor warm weather all the year round, it becomes however winter once it rains". Therefore, the local people always warn tourists "you will catch cold, if you fail to dress yourself warmly when it rains". When tourists visit Kunming, they should take coats or jackets with them just in case even if in summer season. When in bed, don't forget to cover with blanket so as to avoid catching cold. During the periods Of winter and spring, only woolen sweaters and overcoats are required.

When tourists go in for outdoor activities. They should prepare enough clothing to keep out the cold, solid food and drinking water and adopt measures to prevent the water from freezing. They should also wear sunglasses to shad their eyes from ultraviolet ray. When the lack of oxygen at high altitude occurs, it is necessary to take good rest or receive treatment by sucking oxygen.
