Flowers Camellia
The camellia of Yunnan
Province is that its petals are big with Bright color in some cases, one plant
can produce ten thousand flowers like a raging fire and rays of sunlight shining
through multihued clouds. Camellia was discovered more than multihued clouds.
Camellia was discovered more than 1300 years ago. Now, the variety of camellia
has been reproduced from several scores to a thousand or so, among which Hentiangao
(Rivalry with Sky) and Tongzimian (Youth Face) are the most precious ones.
Azalea
There are more than 850
kinds of azalea in the world, among Which China possesses over 460 of its
kind and out of the 460, Yunnan has more than 260, occupying 56% of the country's
total and 31% of the total of the world. That shows Yunnan has an abundance
of variety of azalea. Luring spring and summer, azalea are blooming in a riot
of color all over the mountains and plains. What a beautiful sight the azalea
makes blazing with color in variant postures.
Winter Jasmine (Jasmine nudiflorum)
When the last days of winter are drawing to an end, and Spring is on the
horizon, the winter jasmine with its brightest color and dazzling beauty and
warmest postures burst into bloom in a riot of color presenting a panorama
of gorgeous rosetinted clouds, It is the first harbinger of Spring. China
has all together 230 kinds of Winter Jasmine, and in Yunnan alone, there are
158, many of which are wild varieties. Winter Jasmine from high mountains
to plains, from hills down to the deep valley, can be found everywhere.
Yulan (Jade) Magnolia
It is called Jade magnolia simply because the Color of the flower looks
like that of a piece of jade, and the flower looks elegant.
Yunnan Cigarette
The Yunnan cigarette is made our lf the Yunnan flue-cured tobacco produced
in Yunnan Province, and the cut tobacco appears to be orange color mixed with
fine ingredients emitting appealing smell and mellow taste. It is a treasure
product among the high-grade cigarettes enjoying great fame.
Yunnan Baiyao
It is a pharmacist-prepared medicine which cures internal and external injuries
particularly effective for stopping bleeding, curing wounds, relieving pain
and diminishing inflammation, invigorating the circulation of blood, reducing
the swelling and leasing, expelling pustule and relieving internal heat or
fever etc. It is famed as "Panacea". It was made by the Yunnan famous local
doctor Qu Huanzhang in 1914.
The Yunnan Stripe Bronze
Kunming has a long history of bronze manufactory industry. As early as the
Warring States and western Han periods, bronze culture was created in Kunming
area unique of its kind with distinctive national feature, marvelous regional
color and artistic style. The technology for the manufacture of bronze is
rather complicated; special technology is used to enable the bronze and other
metals to be integrated but not mixed together, presenting crest and stripe
decorative pattern with different golden colors interwoven together. It wins
for it the fame because of its luxurious elegance.
