Confucius Temple Area
You can find many kinds of pretty ivory carvings and famous Chinese traditional Satin here.  The traditional cloud-pattern brocade of Nanjing is the most famous; it was first made in the Southern Dynasty, gradually developed during the Yuan Dynasty and was most popular during the Ming and Qing Dynasty. 

Hunan Lu Night market
Hunan Road is a great place to check out in the evening. It has great food, clothing stores, entertainment, an enormous night market, and a public park attached at the end.  In the evening on Hunan road, the street seems almost as bright as the daytime.  There are neon lights on buildings, arches above the road, and in the “Light Art Tunnel”.  The Hunan Road night market is ideal for finding all sorts of cheap crafts, toys, clothes, DVDs, etc.

Shopping the Household Electrical Appliances
There are four main chain stores in Nanjing that sell household electrical appliances. They name Su Ning, Wu Xin, Guo Mei (Gome), and Yong Le. All four stores are located closely to each other. Guo Mei has another two chain stores; one of them is on Shanxi Road, and the other in Jiangning. Su Ning has six other stores, which are on Shanxi Road, Zhujiang Road, in Jiangning, in Xiaguan, in Kazimen, and in Dachang District.  

Zhujiang Road – IT Products
Zhujiang Road is Nanjing's IT product center.  Available are desktops, notebooks, digital cameras, MP3 players, and all kinds of IT products. The prices here are around 1/3 lower than in stores such as Gold Eagle, Xinbai, etc.  There are four main shopping centers on Zhujiang Road: Cyber Digital Products Square, Huahai Digital Square, Buynow, and Hong Tu San Bao.  Zhujiang Road Subway Station is a 10 minutes walk from the main shops on Zhujiang Road. (Bus: 52, 47, 6, 68)

Fashion Lady
It is located at the Center of Xinjiekou Pedestrian Square.  If you are coming via subway, get off at the Xinjiekou Station and walk straight to Fashion Lady through exit #12.  There are also several other entrances above ground that are scattered around the pedestrian center of Xinjiekou. At Fashion Lady, you can find all sorts of clothing as well as shoes, photo sticker machines, jewelry, photo finishing and framing services plus some other surprises.

Zhongyang Road - Video Games
There are at least 5 small console video game stores on Zhongyang Road.  They have games, consoles, and accessories for Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP and the Nintendo Gamecube, Gameboy, and DS. You can get there by the subway, get off at Gulou station and then walk north along Zhongyang Road to reach the largest shop.  The other stores are 1 to 2 blocks further north on the west side of Zhongyang Road.  Staff members here in all locations are very knowledgeable about their products.

Gold Eagle Shopping Centre
Gold Eagle boasts a selection of world-renowned brands, which are rarely seen elsewhere in Nanjing.  Brands include CARA, ELANIE, JESSICA and udb for women’s clothing, Dior, Lancome, Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden and Vichy for cosmetics.  The Gold Eagle Shopping Centre symbolizes the top level of consumerism in Nanjing. Gold Eagle does not offer huge discounts or promotions like some other stores.  However, with a VIP card you may be entitled to a 5% discount. It is located in the Xinjiekou downtown area.  You can take bus 4, near the west entrance of Xinjiekou station.

Huaxin-Clothes and Shoes
The department store contains 3 floors of small stores competing to sell shoes, clothes and accessories.  The products here are so fashionable that makes them more popular among the younger, high school and university student aged crowd. Huaxin is within walking distance from the center of Xinjiekou.  It is in the same building as the Pizza Hut.

Deji Plaza:
Deji Plaza is a super-trendy mall in Nanjing with international brands.  Several mid to high range international brands are available here, where they cannot be found in other stores in Nanjing.  Versace, FCUK, Escada, popular athletic wear labels, trendy home furnishings, and GNC are just a few examples of Western brands at Deji Plaza. It is located at the corner of Zhongshan Road and Zhongshan Dong Road. Deji Plaza sits right on the busiest intersection of Xinjiekou.  Xinjiekou subway station Exit #7 leads directly to the basement of Deji Plaza.
