Beijing Xian Guilin Shanghai BS590107 Tour Package

Beijing, Xian Guilin Shanghai Tour Package

Dear Esther

It's about two weeks, that we return from Hong Kong.

The trip to South China was great, but short. Everything was real  good managed and I want to thank you vor everything.
Next year we will come to Hong Kong and we pretend to realise again
a trip to China. We would like to visit :
Beijing,  a Yangtze ship cruise and Tibet

I believe the stay everywhere must be 4-5 days, because if each trip
is only 3 days, realy we don't have time to see enough.

We will come on October beginning and we can beginn the trip in Beijing about October 15.

If you have time you can make me a offer for this, but presently  it's only an idea.

 My best regards to you

 Antonio Camilo

Dear Esther;

Thank you for this message which I only received today because we had already left on our trip on September 30 and arrived home last night. Never mind. Our tickets were waiting for us when we arrived in Hong Kong. We appreciated that courtesy.

I would like to thank Oriental Travel for arranging our trip into China for us. We had a wonderful time and our Hotels, Guides, drivers and all arrangements were top quality and we really enjoyed all we did and saw.

I would be pleased if you would pass on to CYTS in China our sincere thanks and especially that our guides, Amelia in Beijing, Cici in Zi’an and Lucy in Guilin were absolutely first class. All three drivers were excellent and very careful on the extremely busy roads and that made us feel very safe and confident when we were out driving.

We were very impressed with the knowledge and the history that the 3 guides passed on to us when we were visiting the various sites and this helped us understand everything so much better. You should be very proud that guides of such high standard are available to visitors to China.

Again, sincere thanks for organizing such a wonderful trip for us. We really appreciate all you did for us.

Kind regards and sincere thanks. Joan and Ian Henderson, Melbourne, Australia

Dear Esther,
We have just returned from our China trip and we thoroughly enjoyed the many experiences we had in each of the destinations. Thank you for all of your help in this regard.

We especially want to recognize our Guilin tour guide Mr. John Wu for his outstanding service. John was raised in the Guilin area and has been a guide for many years. He shared with us a wealth of information about China and Guilin. During our Li River cruise, we spent most of the time with John on the open upper deck of the boat. As he pointed out each feature and scenic setting, a number of visitors from other tours would gather around the three of us to listen to John's commentary. They also joined in asking John questions about Guilin and the Li River. John was polite in his responses and he received many thanks at the end of the cruise.

We enjoyed our time with each of the guides in Shanghai, Xian, and Beijing, but John We clearly stands out as an outstanding person and a new friend.

Thanks again for all your assistance in making our China trip a very special event.

Thank you for helping to make this trip a very enjoyable experience.

The guides were terrific.  David, in Beijing was attentive and knowlegable, Shirley, in Xian, was very capable, and Christina, in Shanghai, was delightful.

We will  highly recommend your services.

Many thanks,

Hi Yao Hong,

I wanted to report back to you on our recent tour from Beijing - Xian - Guilin - Hong Kong, beginning 27 November.
The tour was wonderful.  Everything happened as planned and we had a wonderful time.  We were lucky that the weather was still warm.  The guides were very nice and very helpful.
We look forward to another trip to China some time in the future.
Thank you for all of your assistance and patience.
Regards,

Dennis

Kitty,

First, thanks to Oriental travel for a very enjoyable trip. All of the arrangements worked out well, although we would have liked more time in almost every place we visited!

The guides and drivers were all very good, and were very helpful and informative. The hotels were consistently good, with clean and comfortable rooms and good service. We had enough time to enjoy each of the sites we visited, and overall we were left with a great appreciation of the history, culture and size and diversity of this amazing country.

There were a few specific points that I would like to make that could perhaps help in improving the tour for others.

First, we did have some problems with the foods arrangements. We found that there was little variety, with the some of the same dishes often presented at both Lunch and Dinner. Your tour guides did a great job in helping us to accommodate the fact that my wife is a vegetarian, however it was disappointing that there was no choice of menu, nor was there any flexibility to choose either the style of restaurant or the time of eating.

I understand that such flexibility is difficult, especially as we had pre-paid for all of our meals. However, the fact that we had specifically paid for a personalized tour was not reflected in the food arrangements, where we often found ourselves sharing a restaurant with other much larger tour groups. It also meant that we were not able to enjoy the great diversity and range of Chinese food that I know is available in the different regions we visited.

One suggestion might be to offer a range of different restaurant styles for the clients to select, and to give the option to choose from a menu, paying any additional costs over and above the costs agreed between the tour company and the restaurant. This may be particularly suitable for travellers on the individual tours where I suspect costs are less of a concern.

Second, the train journey from Beijing to Xian was an interesting and enjoyable experience. However, we were surprised to find that we were sharing a four berth cabin. This is not usual for travellers in the west, and perhaps you should point out this fact in the tour description. You should also provide a warning about the length of the journey, we were a little taken aback when we found that we would spend 14 hours on the train!

Also, I think you need to provide more information in preparation for the actual train journey. The tour guide made sure we were on the correct train, but we had no information with respect to meal arrangements, access to hot drinks or refreshments, or toilet and washing facilities. Whilst these did not present any specific problems, other travellers might find it more of a problem. I am also glad we were not undertaking the journey in the summer - I could not see much evidence of air-conditioning!

It was disappointing that the journey was undertaken completely during the hours of darkness. One of the attractions of a train journey is the ability to view the scenery as we pass by, but travelling in the hours of darkness made this impossible. Overall, perhaps it would be more appropriate to offer this journey as an option, with the appropriate information to allow the traveller to choose between the train or an airline flight.

Lastly, it was disappointing that the Li river cruise was cut short. Whilst I understand that this was the dry season and thus the river was running very low, this fact was not informed to us until we arrived in Guilin. Some kind of warning in the tour description would have at least prepared us for the disappointment that the boat trip was not as described.

In closing I do want to state that the points above in no way detracted from our enjoyment of the overall tour, and we shall certainly consider making use of your services again in the future. I would also have no hesitation in recommending your services to friends and colleagues.

Thanks again for all your help, including finding the hotel in Hong Kong and with the visa application for my wife.

Best Regards,

I was just looking at my pictures again from my recent trip to China and wanted to let you know that my daughter and I were very pleased with your services. I will certainly recommend you to anyone I know who is going to visit China.

Our guide, Michelle, in Beijing was especially delightful and well-informed. Thank you again for a very memorable time.
