Hello, Colin! We had a wonderful time in China. We were very satisfied with the services that we had received, especially in Beijing and Xian. The tour guide in Beijing was young, but very informative, courteous, enthusiastic and took care of us even to the last minute, making sure that we got into the right train cabin. She also took an extra effort to meet our needs. We are very thankful to her. The tour guide in Xian was an experienced guide, who was like a history professor. We were very impressed with the knowledge of Chinese history that he had. He also took an extra effort to make sure that we were happy and safe to get on the plane to Guilin. Thanks to him, we were able to have good seats to see "Tang's Dynasty show" and to enjoy "Dumpling dinner". The tour guide in Guilin had a different style than those from Beijing and Xian, but she also satisfied our needs. The tour guide in Shanghai was a student guide and because of that she was much less experienced as expected. We are pretty sure that she will get better as she guides more tours. The itinerary that she had was very different from the one that we had, i.e., a visit to the Jade Budha temple and a lunch for Sunday were on ours, but not on hers. These somewhat caused a confusion. However, we did get to visit the Jade Budha Temple, but paid lunch for Sunday. Also, because of the APEC meeting in Shanghai, we did not get to visit the "Summer Palace". We wish that we would have been informed about the APEC meeting in Shanghai. This is because, instead of visiting Shanghai, we would have made an alternate plan. The hotels that we stayed were good and satisfying. Food were overall good, except for the dinner at Shanghai on 10/20. We did enjoyed the tours in China and we have already recommended the similar tours to our friends. Thank you again.
Jennifer and David,
