Chengde Culture
		Chengde is the possession of Yan country. In the period of Western Chou, Chengde was the sphere of influence of Yan. In the warring States Period, there were three prefectures, they were Yuyang, Beiping and Liaoxi. From Western Han to Southern and Northern Dynasties, people from Xiongnu, Wuhuan, Xianbei and some other different nationalities had lived here. Chengde belonged to Youzhou. In the early period of Qing dynasty, Chengde was the grazing land of those herdsmen in Mongolia. In Qing dynasty, because of the important geographical situation, Qing paid attention to Chengde and built a palace, that is the Summer Resorting Palace. In China's history, Chengde was the second political center of the Qing dynasty. Chengde is one the famous historical and cultural cities in China. The United Nation in 1994 approved the Summer Resorting palace and Waiba Temple as one of the world cultural heritages. The traditional food in Chengde is a kind of delicious cake, which is called "the flower and rose cake". This kind of cake is sold in Mingyuan Zhai of Erxian Ju. In Qing dynasty, the imperial kitchen sent people here to learn this kind of cakes. The wood caving is unique. There is a kind of stick in Chengde. It is made from walnuts and wood that is worked with care. This kind of stick is refined. If you can always use it, you will be much healthier. So it is called the "long life stick".
