About Chongqing Guest House (4 star)
The history of Chongqing Guest House , the longest one among hotels in Chongqing, can be traced back to the ¡°Hostel for American reinforcements ¡±during the Anti-Japanese War. The name¡°Victory Mansion¡± was given as the commemoration of victory for that war . After the founding of the People¡¯s Republic of China, it became the Hostel of the Southwest Military-Political Committee , which was the main place for Chinese leaders such as Deng Xiaoping , He Long , receiving the important politicians from the domestic and abroad . In 1956, it was named formally as ¡°Chongqing Guest House ¡±, one of the earliest foreign-concerned hotels in China . For half a century , Chongqing Guest House has experienced the great changes, especially since the establishment of Reform and Open Policy, the hotel welcomed in a golden age for developing with long history and peculiar good location. In 1985, Chongqing Guest House became the first hotel jointly managed by China and foreign countries in Chongqing, gradually approaching the international standards. In 1991, the hotel was chosen as the first three-star hotel in Chongqing and promoted as a four-star hotel in 1993. The hotel won successively the titles of ¡°national best star-grade hotel¡±, ¡°one of the 10 best star-grade hotels in Chongqing¡± for its well-management and high-efficiency.
