The Blang nationality has a population of 82,000. They mostly reside in the Yunnan Province. The Qiang people also call themselves Wu, Wenggong, or Awa. According to historical records, an ancient tribe called Pu were the ancestors of today's Blangs. The spoken language of the Qiang nationality belongs to the South Asia language family. The language does not have written form. Agriculture is the mainstay of the nationality. The chief farm products are rice and tea. The Puer tea is famous not only in china but also in the world.
