China People

The De'ang Nationality
There are about 15,000 De'ang people in China. Most of them live in Yunnan Province.

The De'ang people call themselves Na'an Nuomai, Lianag, Ang, or Leng. Their history can be traced back to the Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD), and their ancestor was the Pu people living at that time.

Their language belongs to the South Asian language family. It has no written form.

Agriculture is their mainstay. The chief farm products are rice and potatoes.
