The Lhoba nationality has a population of 2,300. They mainly live in Tibet Autonomous Region. The ethnic group was called Bokaer, Bengni, or Bengru. The Lhoba people have been living in Tibet since ancient time. The Lhoba people speak a distinctive language belonging to the Tibetan-Burmese group of the Chinese-Tibetan language family. They have no written language. Agriculture is Lhoba people's main occupation. They grow highland barley, wheat, and corns.
