The Nu Nationality
  The Nu nationality has a population of 27,000. They mainly live in Yunan Province.

The ethnic group used to be called Nusu, Anu, and Along. According to historical records, the Nu people are the descendants of the Luluman people who inhabited in the area during the Yuan Dynasty and the people who resided in the area of Gongshan in ancient time.

Their spoken language belongs to the Tibetan-Burmese group of the Chinese-Tibetan language family. The language does not have written form.

Agriculture is their main occupation. The chief farm products include corns, highland barley, potatoes, and beans.
