The Uzbek Nationality

There are about 14,000 Uzbek people in China. Most of them live in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The Uzbek people are the descendants of the Lite, Huacizi, Feiergan and Saha-Masagaite people. Their ancestors moved from Central Asia to China in ancient times.
Their language belongs to the Tuskic branch of the Altaic language family. The written form is an alphabetic writing based on the Arabic letters.
Trade and handiwork are their mainstay.
