Hohhot
  Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongalia Autonomous Region, has an area of 6 thousand square kilometers and a population of 1.41 million.

Hohhot lies on the Tumochuan plain in Inner Mongolia. Most of Hohhot is flat, but one fourth of the region are mountains, it has a temperate continental climate with an annual average temperature of 6.8 degree Celsius, and has 130 frost-free days. Annual rainfall averages 423 millimeters.

The main mineral deposits on Hohhot are graphite, limestone, marble, zeolite, and dark-red pottery.

Hohhot is a center of China's wool industries. Its industries also include machine building, food processing, electronics, chemicals, and construction materials. The chief farm products of Hohhot are beet, flax, tobacco, cooking oil crops, vegetables, milk products, and fresh water fish.

Rail and road transportation facilities in Hohhot are good. It has regular flights to more than 10 cities throughout China.

Hohot is a historical and cultural city. It has many ancient relics, including Wang Zhaojun Tomb, Pagoda of Huayan Temple, Five Pagode Temple, and Great Mosque. It is also famous for barbecue and the production of mushrooms and hops.
