Panshan Mountain located 12 km northwest of Jixian County enjoys a reputation of The First Mountain in Jingdong (east are of Beijing) because of its beauty of peaks and range, dense forest, clear water and rugged rocks. Panshan with an area of 106 sq km is one of the Ten Landscapes of Tianjin. Going up to the mountain from the west way, you will find the Mountain has three huge stages, each of which has quite different scenery. At the first stage, there is a lush growth of pines; at the second stage, there are many strange-shaped rocks in sight; at the third stage, you will see numerous springs with water flowing out.
Guayuefeng, the highest peak of Panshan Mt, is 864.40 meters above sea level. On the peak, there is a Buddhist Tower which is said that the Buddhist Light will be seen whenever the eve of Chinese New Year. At foot of the Peak, there is a temple built in the Tang Dynasty. If you come up to the peak, you will enjoy the beautiful surrounding of the Mt.
